Angela Miskis (B. Ecuador, 1987) is an abstract artist based in Queens, NY. Utilizing a variety of media, Angela investigates how her upbringing and heritage shaped how she relates to her environment. Using abstraction and color to navigate memories of losing, ceding and gaining control. Angela often uses recycled objects in her work, exercising her need of giving things a second. Angela graduated from the School of Visual Arts (2013). She was an artist in residence in the Leipzig International Art Programme (2014) in Germany and at ChaShaMa’s ChaNorth International Artists Program (2019) in Pine Plains, NY.
