The “Bossx” series is inspired and made from a single Hugo Boss catalog. I was drawn to this catalogue because 1.) I didn’t see myself in it (i.e. a person of color) so by working with it I could insert myself in the work 2.) I liked how the models all looked the same, almost genderless. I played on that idea by collaging different facial and body features together 3.) I wanted to challenge myself and make an entire series working solely from a single source – the catalogue.

This series is inspired and made from recycled fashion magazines. I love working with fashion magazines because they are already so heavily curated. They are a great source of joy, beautiful shapes, colors and textures. I enjoy remixing them and making them my own.
